At the end of our day we headed out of town to visit the lovely gardens of Villa Gamberaia. A Renaissance villa, created with the words of Pliny in mind, where there must be fresh breezes, plenty of land for growing vines, olives etc, near enough to town to be only a couple of hour's drive away (in a horse-drawn carriage - the Number 10 bus takes less time)
Our idea is simply to let our hair down and enjoy the space; a gorgeous garden, well-kept lawns, a lovely grotto...
